Norwich Road Runners Ladies team set a new course record at the Round Norfolk Relay held over the weekend of 15/16th September 2007. In a marvellous display of team-working, co-ordination and planning, the ladies broke their own record from 2005 to post a time of 24h52m24s for the 193 mile course that circumnavigates Norfolk.

The team result was made possible by a whole series of strong individual performances, with stage records being broken on 7 out of the 17 stages. Record breakers were Tracey Curl, Nicola Korn, Anne Flanagan, Penny Edwards, Dawn Carver, Emma Combes and Alex Smith, and the rest of the winning team were Cathy Piggott, Sally Cushing, Marie Clarke, Michelle Bull, Caroline Tayler, Alison Hatch, Fiona Laskey, Tracey Alden, Sarah Bradley and Mandy Fulton. None of this would have been possible without Wendy Smith and Melinda Meredith who did all the organising, and numerous other club members who helped with support cycling or driving duties.

In this unique race where the fastest teams cover the distance in a continuous relay of about 21 hours, the Norwich Road Runners men's 'Open' class team came a close 4th in an excellent time of 21:35:43 just behind Ely Runners, and the mixed 'Club' class team also achieved a creditable circuit in 26:24:22. The feat of organisation that goes behind entering a team for the RNR means that it is an achievement simply to get to the seventeen start lines, let alone finishing successfully and posting a good performance; entering three teams means that almost everyone in the club is involved in some way or another, and can feel part of the success that has been achieved.
