Welcome to Norwich Road Runners

clubofyear007

We have been running together since 1985 and have

steadily grown to include over 250 members. The club has mainly concentrated on Road Running events with the occasional forays into Off Road/Cross Country. We pride ourselves on being a friendly club welcoming runners both male and female, of all ages and of all abilities from complete beginners to the fastest in the county

We meet on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights at the Sewell Park Sports Centre in Norwich at 18:55. Monday nights are primarily for those new to running. On Tuesdays we hold an 'effort' session - shorter faster bursts of running to help improve speed. Thursday nights involve a longer run of approximately 8 miles around the beautfiul city of Norwich, with 'cut backs' available at various points for those who do not wish to run as far. Find out more about joining the club here.

The club is a member of Norfolk County AAA as well as being affiliated to  UK Athletics. The affiliation of the club to these organisations ensures that we are kept advised of all news and events concerning the running and administration of the Athletics governing bodies. Benefits of affiliation to these organisations include Insurance coverage on organised club training and a reduction of race fees due by any club member when entering an affiliated race.

Beginners Sessions

For complete beginners to running, we are now running training sessions on Monday nights at the Sewell Park College Sports Centre , starting at 7:00pm with one of our qualified coaches. These have proved to be so popular, that you can now just turn up in order to take your first steps at running. Introduce yourself to one of the coaches, and you'll receive a warm welcome! There's no obligation to join straight away, so what's stopping you?
